If you could come back in time

Postby Edge Guerrero » Fri Apr 02, 2021 4:39 pm

- And change one thing what would be?

A good friend of my childreenhood became a drug-dealler and killed a person a decade or so ago. I've had a fill following that path, but thisone it's the only one that i care. He used to be a good person, before getting corrupted by greed and money.

Sometimes i dream that where still kids, playing. Now he is in jail, and will never change his ways. Since this road has no come-back.

But if given the oportunity, i would come back and change that.

Interesting question

I honestly can't think of anything I would go back and change. Could you really have changed his path?

There was a good Star Trek episode once where Picard was given the chance to change a fight he got in once as a youth, he got stabbed through the heart and regretted it. He got to go back and change that day and he turned out to be a useless man, begged for his true self back.

Regret is a dangerous thing imo, I think we even need our mistakes and errors to shape us and learn from.

Going back to help others perhaps is a different thing.

Maybe you can do it in the quantum field somehow after you die :D

I don't understand how or why lives can turn in strange directions either. But they do. I have tried to help people in the past before, realizing I cannot really help them. It's made be sad to stop trying sometimes, but it just seems to be the way things go its not our job to direct

Maybe we misjudge these things, what looks terrible for us is actually somehow what that person had to go through. I think a lot about the possibility that we are longer threads of lives, not just this one. If that is true at all, then suddenly tragedies just look like one small part of a bigger story, a learning opportunity, etc.

I would enjoy going back in time not to change things necessarily, but just to experience different moments in history.

what connection does that movie ^^ have with this thread?
Is the friend you tried to save like a character from the film? Friends of our youth, now no more?

You're an interesting dude, Edge thanks for being here :D

- He isn't my friend anymore. When he walked by me, asked how my mom and dad where. If it's everthing ok. But never bothered us.

About that movie:

After the death of one of his friends, a writer recounts a childhood journey with his friends to find the body of a missing boy.

You never watched it?
