Rule of thumb is that anything that changes the blueprint needs to have a permit. They sometimes require permits for other things but that is just a tax.

I don't know how long my paperwork will take so I am leaving the client's access to her front door until I get the go-ahead from the city.

- We need a engineer to do estrutural changes. But they follow this rule at their own beat.
