Gaza Freedom Flotill Attempts: Mavi Marmara Massacre etc

Hey all

Who has heard of this? I just bumped into it, apparently it happened in 2010

Story I heard was that a bunch of civilian boats carrying supplies, humanitarian aid, & construction supplies for Gaza was attacked and brutally killed a bunch of them, and seized everyone/everything else. Israeli soldiers also died, as the raid turned into a crazy battle.

The activists say their efforts were benign, a publicity stunt at worst.

Netanyahu claimed that 1 of the boats actually had a badass terrorist team aboard and were planning a trojan horse-style attack, so Israel killed the fuck out of them.

Did anyone look into this? Which side of the story is right, if any? I heard that lots of world groups all stood up against Israel, saying their actions were deplorable... Netanyahu originally refused to apologize, but later made some sort of admission/reparations.

I went to listen to Ken O'Keefe speak at a few events in toronto

Well, no surprise, they got intercepted and kidnapped by the Israeli forces.

According to their website, Women's Boat to Gaza lost contact with the Zaytouna-Oliva minutes before 4 p.m. local time. It is now understood that Israeli Occupation Forces have surrounded the boat in international waters and forced it to a halt.
