Here's the last page of Fitzgerald's THE GREAT GATSBY. He died, an alocoholic, in 1940. It was only after WWII that he got the massive recognition that he was a great writer and THE GREAT GATSBY was his magnum Opus. Interestingly his last years were spent in Hollywood tinkering, unsuccessfully, on movie scripts.

CYCLES - LIFE AND DEATH, REPEAT
Drinking alcohol is no longer for me. Life became stilted under its influence. And so much money was spent. It's a silent killer promoting a very slow but sure suicide.
Americans can’t drink
EY cycled a glorious life and met a normal death. Let us be bereaved at a loss of a sense. Glory in the good times and move forward. Looking back fondly and making sure your footing is sure GOING forward.
a glorious life?
