Covid aside, Canada is still a really great place to live.
Covid aside, I am quite happy where I am right now. I also LOVE BC and the island and have my dad and brother there, don't want to completely burn bridges to this place.
It's the covid /Great reset BS that is the question mark. Will it make Canada suddenly a shit place to live? Or will it still be pretty good, relatively speaking?
I am still not completely convinced we're all going to the gulags, this may pass yet and life may still return to relatively normal. Or it could go completely sideways. Question is how long do we have to wait and see? If I sell everything now and move to Brazil, and the powers that (shouldn't) be decide they got what they want for now (or their plans failed) and they start lifting all the covid shit, I will have jumped the gun and lost a lot. However if I wait too long, I might lose all the equity in my house and that ability to sell for a good price.
Right now I'm a bit nervous that I still carry a mortgage. I love my home and my kids do too, but damn it would be nice right now to be completely debt-free and own an actual home.
Feb 11 will be a big clue to these questions, let's see what our stupid Premier says.
