My wife is Brazilian, yet I've seen her chatting for hours with spanish people. She speaks portuguse, & her friend speaks spanish yet somehow they converse. Very weird to hear

Romance languages have a lot of mutual intelligibility. My old Latin prof used to say "Its all Romance to me". e.g. Edge's urso is ursa in Latin.

Roman origin but Greek had nothing to do with it. Latin was the language of Latium, the Italian province that Rome was in. Romance languages are the languages that grew out of Latin(Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Romanian).

People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.
