Goddamn naggers, even when it wasn't dem I knew it was dem
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.

I’m just saying that at least in Canada, I don’t find the liberal party to be very liberal. All the parties seem to be morphing towards increasingly totalitarian structures. I suppose Trump’s schtick could be considered traditionally conservative, but is he really?

I dunno, these words have lost much of their meaning to me. Hope folks can get back to the root ideas of the questions, maybe use different words would

social liberal =/= economic liberal

Our main right of center party are called the liberals and it confuses the shit out of retards here too dont worry.

^^

Liberal in the US/social sense is about social progressiveness rather than a free market

I know it gets confusing man but hang in there it took me a while to work out what the fuck left and right was in the first place

I have become quite interested in the fact that it IS so unclear and muddled in the first place.

At the risk of entering a sea of futility, I would really love to hear your/anyone's attempt to define what Left and Right, Liberal and Conservative even mean anymore.

It's so weird we all use these terms so casually but I really don't think most people have even the foggiest idea of what they actually mean when they use these words. I would bet even the brightest people will give you varying explanations

Still fucked that political parties in so many countries are directly labelled after words and terms that they don't even follow. Is this by design?

The terms left and right originate from the french revolution where in the days prior to the king getting front headlocked by a large blade he had the noblemen, knights, landowners, catholic church baby rapers etc all taking court to his right whereas the peasants (who would soon rebel) to his left.

Those sat to his right (the establishement) obviously wanted things to stay as they were whereas the peasants/serfs wanted to overthrow the system (which they did and always will imo).

Now you understand the origin which should make things clearer (bear with me ill get to the liveral thing later) , these positions havent changed but what is confusing is what they stand for. These days the left rather than being a movement for the poor serf type has been hijacked by rich spoilt need to get their asses kicked white kids who take everythning too far and feel its an outlet to get back at daddy because daddy had to nerve to work 60 hours a week and not give them enough attention (so they wouldnt starve)

Another example is third wave feminisim, they started out fighting for women's rights to vote work, most importantly against domestic violence but are now calling for males to be wiped off the face of the planet.

The left is trying to change the establishment for the sake of it, FFS there's a BLM movement in Australia (run by whites) and not one black person has been shot by the cops here, we import anglo saxaphone criminals from england anyway lol

Right wing sat to the right of the french king and wanted to maintain the status quo the left wing sat to his right and wanted change

Now liberal can mean social liberal as it America, think "child porn is natural" that kind of shit, liberal in the commonwealth sense means econominc liberal IE little to no government intervention in the economy/small government think no tarrifsd, no bailouts etc which is very right wing in the ECONOMIC sense.

Do you understand now? If anyone thinks ive explained it wrong then let me know cause I really dont think about this shit anymore

Sorry more importantly than that is the fact that you dont have to be a left or right wing person, in fact no one in Australia really did until facebook.

You can really have fun with it like telling Americans you are anti abrotion but pro gun control and watch them die of confusion
