Gone for 1 week again!

Postby Masato » Fri Jul 24, 2020 10:55 pm

Hey all

Off for my annual tradition of renting a cottage somewhere with the family and unplugging for a week. Got a nice place booked by a lake, gonna bring the dog, leaving tomorrow. Haven't seen it yet but not picky, sure it will be perfect

I will check in here sometimes but not much, lol I really enjoy not being on screens for extended days when I can.

Uncle Mega is in charge this time, even though that honour is practically meaningless lol

As usual don't trash the place too bad, if the cops show up I am at the cottage and have nothing to do with it.

Hope the NWO is rounded up and hanged by the time I get back

Right on Masato, have a great trip!

I don’t see what can go wrong with Mega in charge ;)

As I read this, I was literally sitting here with my wife planning a trip to CO end of September/early October. Need to get away for a break badly. It takes a little strategy, because I have to try to fit in as many mountain bike rides along the way hah. Have a wedding to attend in the middle, but I’m trying to figure out some places to stop/stay/ride to sandwich around either side or that. I think I’m going to make a stop at Palo Duro Canyon on the way out. PD is Texas’ “Grand Canyon”, and one of the places I haven’t visited yet in this big ass state the biking is supposed to be killer!

Cheers bro, enjoy yourself!

- Good vacation, Boss!

Back 2 Lyfe

(But not Back 2 Reality :D )

The trees and nature is Reality. This crazy world of masks and fear mongering is not.

A week away from all this madness has done me good.

We hired a driver to take the kids our tubing for half an hour.

Found out after the driver was only in Grade 12, lol. He drove like a pro, said he'd been driving boats since he was 6

I didn't take many pictures as I really enjoy not having a phone around for some time, but I did take a few along the way:

This one I took by accident, lol but I like the way it turned out:

I went exploring a few times with my dog, and we stumbled on this road that didn't look like it had been used in a while. Overgrown, trees fallen over the road etc.

So we followed it and found this old cottage in a swampy back corner of the lake of the that also looked like it hadn't been used in years:

My imagination jumped that it was some sort of hideout for gangsters, lol it had that aura about it; no evidence of families or kids it was just a simple hidden little shack with few windows.

Then I noticed an odd-shaped hill with something sticking out the top like a vent or something.

Turns out it was some sort of bunker, lol

I could pry open the door a bit, but about 1 foot behind it was another door, solid, heavy, and locked shut.

Wonder what's inside there?

Looks amazing Masato! I spent a lot of time in northern Wisconsin as a kid (usually 3-4 weeks each summer, and a week or two in winter). These pics remind me of that a lot, have a very similar vibe. House on the water, what a life!
