Tom Bombadil

Postby Masato » Sat Oct 26, 2019 10:49 pm

I admit I did not read the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but watched the films like 100 times

I've been learning about the differences between the book and the movie, some interesting stuff.

Included is a character Tom Bombadil, who was completely omitted from the films. Yet, the character as portrayed in the books is perhaps one of the most powerful characters in all of Middle Earth. Tom even puts the ring on, yet it holds no power over him whatsoever!

Anyways this guy breaks down the various theories hardcore fans have speculated about what the character might have been, or what he may have symbolized within the mythology, or perhaps as analogy to Tolkien's world views...

Oh and if anyone can place the dude's accent I'll be impressed. I can't even guess but it sounds kind of cool :D

Who and What was Tom Bombadil?

Accent sounds fake to me
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.
