Don't be selfish, preserve this world for the next generations.
I'll never long for what might have been
Regret won't waste my life again
I won't look back I'll fight to remain

People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.

Sanity is society's collective interpretation and tolerance of what is considered by that society to be normal human behaviour as it pertains to morality and boundaries of what is considered to be rational thinking and behaviour.

- Great answer.
As social animals, we are expected to act of a way that is optimal to living in the society we are inserted into.

So, its all relative to the herd?
Can something that was once considered to be insane, later be considered sane, just because of a swing in majority opinion?
or vice versa?

Well, how would you know you were insane unless someone else told you so?

- That would need to be a Insanometer, a what level being insane would interfere on the society that surrounds you?
Some rules stayed the same in all the time we are on this planet.
But answering you, yes a swing in opinion would do that.
Just look at the fitness industry before Stallone and Arnold, people that followed that path were considered anormal, now look around how many people like fitness today.

I think SRBrant is in the right direction...
I have trouble judging sanity just relative to other people's sanity. How would you judge if you were alone on an island?
I think the test is more: do you feel connected to your environment? Do you feel one with it? Or do you feel trapped inside your own head/bubble, and DIS-connected from the outside?
I suppose this also sort of works with the 'majority-rules' idea... but not always.
IMO most of the western world is somewhat insane because they are under the heavy influence of mainstream lies and propaganda. Going along with this illusion does not make you sane, even if this world-view is the majority status-quo
