My man Canuckster sent this to me for inspiration... he knows it hit close to home, lol (I have actually done a lot of work for 'Jeeep' :) )
I've been working like the dude in the comic for advertising for 14 years, and it is beginning to kill my soul. I finally feel like things are beginning to shift. I've ben asked to illustrate a children's book (VERY fun), I'm doing a movie poster and T-shirt for this guy making a very cool MMA Documentary, some other work for a guy trying to get the word out about holistic health, and a couple more seeds planted around in better soil.
Also, not that I'm done Sonnen's War, I am psyching myself up to do a less-silly and ILLUSTRATED short graphic novel. I'm scared out of my mind but I know it has to be done so wtf, lets start already.
I really hope in the next few years I can open enough doors to make the switch - ad work is great for lots of reasons but I am really not sure nhow much longer I can do it and still respect myself. We need to find ways to use our abilities for GOOD, to make people happy, to make this world a better place, whatever it is we can contribute.
Wish me luck, folks - wish us ALL luck, we need to have the courage to make some cracks in the rat-race walls, and start doing what we SHOULD be doing in this fantastic and amazing life
