something like that, i would typically rip out the walboard, then cement board, then a schluter membrane then tile. after that its pretty much bulletproof.

This guy didn't want to spring for the kerdi, he wasn't going to do a full demolition. I did a top coat of the easy sand mix this morning over the premix. Just finished priming.

Going to hit it with the redgard tonight because I'd like to start tiling tomorrow.

It'll be fine.

It was good that I didn't use kerdi, actually because they changed their mind about going to the ceiling with the tile. I just have to grout now. Then caulk.

Got a job in 2011 and the guys putting the tiles could only work at night because of the people walking on the floor!

They left town soon after I got started. It's their only bathroom. I was hoping to finish before they got back but it was a lot of tiling and I had to fix the water damage and prep the walls... And wait for shit to dry.

They finished the fountain. Sent me a little video but couldn't really see anything on my flip phone. I might stop by there this evening.
