The build is going well. Everything is plum, level and square.

My only concern with the framing inspection is the cantilever, which is the joist overhang from the last beam. Code is 24 inches or less and I would have been right on if I had set that beam on the other side of the posts but I wasn't thinking about that at the time. It can go either way... I don't know.

Are you considering repainting your house too btw?

not to sound like a bitch, but I hate that green ... or is it white?

The discoloration is the outline of the railing to the previous deck. One thing at a time.

It's hard to say.

It's technically going well. The framing inspection passed without issue. The decking and the rails were delivered. My brother James started work on the concrete pathway but late Sunday night/early Monday morning he fell off his bike (recent dui) after leaving the corner bar and hit his head on the pavement. He fractured his skull and the blood in his brain caused a cranial herniation (or something). He was in a coma for two days before he passed away last night.

He was my only friend and the only person that I ever looked up to.

WTF man, for real??

Deep condolences man, heavy :(

Your real brother or just friend-brother?
(Not to under value ‘friend brothers’, sometimes that can be even stronger)
