Hey all...
These traditional posable figures that we've all seen in art classes SUCK:
I mean they are fucking shitty, they don't even bend right, the hips are all fucked, legs don't bend that way, and WTF is up with that head shape? loI
I honestly don't know how this design somehow became a standard in every art studio. The concept is right, and certain things about using it will obviously improve one's drawing ability, but the anatomy is so fucked I really would never recommend using one if you want to draw people better. Most I've seen don't even bend anywhere near the full range of motion, impossible to do seated poses or even bending limbs past say 45 degrees.
LUCKILY, someone has made a better one, and it looks GREAT:

I may just buy a set to use in my classes, looks great, check it:

Those are fucking cool
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.
On second look, they don't look as poseable as they should be...
Look; at the elbow it only bends in and out. But arms can also swivel at the elbow! This is important The knees too, I don't see anywhere that would make that swivel action.
The best design I ever saw was these Spiderman figures, they could move in all sorts of ways. But the proportion and art design of them were horrific.
Honestly, I design the best toys, lol Maybe someday I'll get to make a real one

I also think I could design the head better. The robot-type shapes help understand how to draw them, but the heads are all smooth and not nearly as clear. There are ways to break down the head for artists, some lines they should have exaggerated for purposes of drawing.
There is an artist who does great tutorials named SYCRA (have some threads in here I'm sure) who made this simplified anatomy breakdown...
I think they would be awesome to use as a guide for the ultimate figure-drawing thing:

- They have pretty poseable action figures now a days.
- But good lucky trying to justify having this action figure

Saw this, looks way better!
Of course I have lost the paper where I scribbled down the name of the product
If anyone knows what this is or more info please post. Was supposed to be poseable, I'd be curious how poseable it really is
