Shoop Cypher Challenge

Postby Luigi » Thu Nov 14, 2013 1:07 am

Hey guys, I was trying to think of a fresh and original take on shooping and so I decided to try something new to see how you guys like this. This was designed to be somewhat of a shooper's crossword puzzle of sorts. I have taken raw images(relevant to mma or shooping in general) and applied a series of alterations to create a "scrambled" or encrypted image. The challenge is to use shoop skills to try to restore the image to its original or decrypted form.

A weakness of this exercise could be that someone could easily recognise the image and produce the original image from another source. However; I have resolved this by adding a kind of insignia or message to the original image that will not be able to be duplicated without having unscrambled the image. This doesn't apply to the first two images because I didn't think of the issue until I had already created them, so for the first two we can just use the honour system.

Another potential problem is that the puzzles may be far too difficult or far too easy, seeing as I have no experience doing this and have no idea how it will work out. So we can think of this as a trial run and gather feedback as we go.

But anyways, here are the ones I have made so far. They increase in difficulty as the go along.

LOL - VERY creative, Luigi!!!! :)

Did one, I had no idea what it was until I was done. The broccolli screwed me up, I was trying to arrange those as separate pieces.

I know the 2nd one, will try the others today maybe if someone else doesn't beat me to it

Super original idea man

PS: How could you 'un-do' the spiral FX you did? How could anyone get that back to normal?

I think its impossible...

This is what I meant by I have no idea how to balance the difficulty yet lol I assumed there was a PS tool to do it but if you don't think its possible I can only make ones without it. I think the spiral was the first transformation I applied to #2 so it should be 90% solvable even with the spiral. #3 has no spiral in it.

Edit: I just attempted #2 and I was able to undo the spiral by applying the same effect and reversing the direction of spiral. However; it was difficult and required a lot of accuracy and even when I did get it the image still had a slight distortion to it. With this in mind I will still be excluding the spiral from any future puzzles.
