Did we just see a Coup in Venezuela?

Postby Masato » Fri Jan 25, 2019 2:25 am

Who's following this?

Looks fishy as hell

So ironic, US has been screaming about 'Russian intervention in democracy' for like 2 years now, oblivious to the rich history of US backing regime changes and puppet governments for decades. Now Russia is calling US out about Venezuela, and the MSM gaslighting people to think Russia is just blowing smoke

lol

How upside down can you get?

But seriously, what the hell just happened? Maduro wins and election, but some other guy takes control, and the US (and its bitch Canada) suddenly gives its full support?

Lets keep an eye on who gets control of Venezuelan's oil

Wild stuff

I tend to like both Partisan Girl and George Galloway

Another side issue connected with this I suppose is whether or not Socialism has any merit left for any nations in the world to strive for. Russia and China literally hundreds of millions dead aside, what other country has really made it work without disaster? Venezueal again now, people are starving its awful. This is why people voted in Brazil imo for Bolsonaro, they feared the Socialist model

So many young folk are attracted to the ideology of a socialist model, young leftists love it but folks have to be honest about the historical track record and results. Of course not to say the alternatives are any utopian model but its weird how easily socialism can still be sold to any people who are tired of corruption.

But back on topic, yeah coup in Venezuela.

Some years back they tried to depose Chavez, flew him away somewhere. The people came out in the streets in such massive numbers that they had to return him.

I think that without him they've lost their way a bit, though it's obvious that the economic problems would be mostly resolved if it wasn't for capitalists not investing etc.

Another weird thing, just a few weeks ago my father in law was telling me something about Hezbollah reps going to Venezuela?

WTF would a group like Hezbollah have an interest in south american politics? I thought it was weird at the time but even weirder now, and certainly part of the greater narrative going on.

I never looked into it then but it does seem in hindsight that some serious geo-political shuffling has been going on down there. For what end or who the major players are and why I have yet to explore. But worth exploring, this is so sudden and weird. Watch for the MSM spin, will say a lot inversely imo

Anyone following this I am all ears.
Will keep looking

Yes! I remember that, total coup against Chavez that failed.

I should have paid more attention once Chavez died. I think whatevers happening is likely related to the sudden Bibi-backed 'regime change' in Brazil.

Is South America back on the Grand Chessboard?
