Kinda cool. I know longpants KB from the 80s used to do 7 rounds, and even up to 12 sometimes. This is the only time I have seen K-1 style KB for more than 5 rounds though. I guess its a local American thing. Though of course if you are in a 1 night tournament and fight 4 fights of 3 rounds, by the end you have fought 12.

^It died in America because MMA took its audience. In Europe its still practiced, though less than other styles.

- MMA boom also coincided with the death of the martial-arts movie genre.
Several guys that competed in kickboxing did transit to movies
