Hey all - as a seeker myself for higher consciousness, truth etc... I always applaud fighters who openly share their own spiritual journeys and how they relate to their fighting and martial arts.
I wish we could see more of these inner-lives of the fighters, I bet there is much insight to be found.
Here is one fascinating story:

What do you think? Does an emphasis on spiritual awareness hinder a fighter (like in Brookins' case), or help it? What are your thoughts on spiritual development in a sport of physical violence?

Well to do MMA right you obviously need a clear head and inner focus... especially if you want to be consistent fight after fight, you need a source from where to find your center etc... the mind is too crazy to let it pull you around all the time - they say once the fight starts its 100% mental
Most of the best fighters I found seem to be spiritual kinds of people, don't you think?
