Masato wrote:Yeah getting older is no joke.

When I watch the kids in my son's jitz class moving around it really hits home that I will never be able to move like that again. So flexible, so light and free. I am still relatively healthy but have all kinds of cracks and pains, my knee gives out sometimes, etc.

I also recently had to come to terms that I would likely never learn how to ride skate bowls anymore... Always wanted to learn but I am just too stiff these days, and falling just hurts way too much when you're older.

Its an inspiration to stay fit, Edge is good to recommend yoga, stretching etc. There is a lot we can do but aging is simply a reality that can't be stopped.

Enjoy physical activity while you can, folks. Be good to your body

The pro-wrestlers Kane is 47, Rob Van Dam is 42, Billy Gunn is 51, Fit finlay is 53 i think.

Billy Gunn:

I'm listing guys that put their body in extreme abuse, and still able to perform at the high level.

This lady is 86 at the filming:

I think this man is over 60's.

I've posted in the Kung-fu quest thread some oldmans able to incredible feats.

- Yoga is amazing, and Chris Jericho recomends:

I always see people saying how beat their body is, but streetching is very important to stay health, and very people simple ignore.
(Not saying it's the case with you).

But everyone i know that has got hurt, did a little rehab(one month playing at the pool), and stoped, the general people don't like to streetch, in martial arts, weight gyms, whem it's very important to stay health.

I've injured my back like half a year ago, and any kind of "real" physical activity is off limits for a long while now. I almost feel like crying sometimes :("

- Yoga is amazing...

Ok, now this is gonna get really funny (and sad).

I actually injured my back doing yoga. I did this:

Image

I held that pose for 3 minutes. I did it every day, but that particular morning, I started doing it without a proper warm-up. I tried to "un-bend". Boom, pain.

Then, I did the stupidest thing possible: I tried self-treatment, warm/hot patches, etc.
It got worse, then, I went to the doctor, got some shots, it didn't help much.

To lessen the pain I started wearing a belt, like the one for heavy lifting. It helped, but, I wore it for like 2 months straight, and all my core spine muscles lost tone. I fell down, hurt my back even more.

Then... I got some treatment by Chinese needle therapist (acupuncture), it helped a bit, but still... THEN, I went through the course with a chiropractor... Now, I am doing some very light exercises to strengthen my core muscles, and, later, I'll probably go through another chiropractor course and, possibly, needle therapy.

THE MORAL is: YOGA IS GOOD, TMAS ARE GOOD. DO IT (and everything else) THE RIGHT WAY.

- I used to feel a pain on the left side of my back, don't know how the pain itself started, but used to hurt whem kicking, whem jumping, and sometimes whem walking.

I started doing deadlifts with very light weight, 10kg on the each side of the bar.(I didn't did deadlifts back in the day, the only acess we had to strenght training was bodybuilding magazines.

After a couple of months, the pain desapeer.

They recomend condoitrin and glucosamin, some people say that aren't enough studies to prove that they work, but well it's science, they always change their minds.

Edited to add some possible side effects:
