JR unwittingly confirms UFC's attempt at a limited hangout. Says Helwani was fed Brock info by brass and essentially dared to go public.

If they told Helwani that "people would get fired if you do this"... "flushing out a mole" doesn't make sense. It's a contradiction. They were the mole in such an instance.

Telling you guys... 100% gimmick.

I followed this yesterday, amazing story.

Here is where he spills his side of the whole thing, going back even before
Episode 333 (:D )

IMHO, Ariel has the guts to do/say what is right, and at the same time naive enough to not understand the forces he is dealing with, lol

He said some badass shit in that podcast, I am striking him up as an asset in the call to re-examine 'journalism' in the west... which is fucked up and not just in MMA. Journalists are running scared, print what they're told, stay away from what they're told.

Ariel is a trooper man. I will cheer for him

- UFC is a soap opera, but with better character and stories.

Damn. Looks pretty weak. I wouldn't expect him to grow a pair but who knows?

One night, probably in 1880, John Swinton, then the preeminent New York journalist, was the guest of honour at a banquet given him by the leaders of his craft. Someone who knew neither the press nor Swinton offered a toast to the independent press. Swinton outraged his colleagues by replying:
"There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it.
There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.
"The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread.
You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press?
We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Here is Dana's reply

I finally saw the promo that Zuffa had made to release the news, and I kinda get it; it would have been a LOT of fun to break the news in style the way they had worked on.

Ariel totally ruined that.

But was he wrong to do so?

This is a very interesting debate imo, relevant to lots o shit:

The UFC are PROPOGANDISTS haha

I get about 3 emails a day, with generic pre prepped stories, images, video etc with the expectations that I just upload and distribute there propaganda.

Its genius, as most low level websites, facebook pages etc have nor the time nor the resources to create or produce real content, so getting a pre prepped package that can simply be "fired up" is ideal.

You can also log into the press portal, which gives a shed load of shit. Articles, images, stats, quotes, basically all the propoganda you need to write an article. Some images attacched show some of the access, if you ever need acceess let me know !!

I am guessing, Helwani and Dana have very different ideas on what JOURALISM actually is. Saying that Helwani just reports the company line. He aint writing about workers rights, steroid and blood doping, the various lawsuits that the UFC is currently fighting etc etc .

- Hellwany is playing a gimmick and so is Dana.
They`re friends on real life, like Hulk Hogan and the IronSheik.
