WTF is going on with McGregor? Retirement?

I missed the whole drama

Can anyone catch me up? What, did he just declare retirement out of the blue?

Dude is SMART, imo. Made a boatload of cash HELLA fast, and realizes he can totally kick back and enjoy life now.

Plus, his absence will pretty much guarantee an even BIGGER fight purse whenever he wants to come back for a 'return of McGregor' fight.

Dude is sitting comfortably from what I see, but then again like I said I missed most of the drama, maybe there is shit I don't understand yet.

My take:

I'm pretty sure the ufc is using Internet trending data to see which fights are going to do the best.

Diaz McGregor 2 wasn't trending well imo. The way the ufc is setting up fights these days, this seems very plausible and the strange drama and stories floating around their top draws is being used to generate interest.

So is this a giant conspiracy with Dana on board to hype his return? Or is it what it seems, and Conor really pulling out of the celebrity shite and getting back to bones?
