Hung Gar

Postby Diet Butcher » Tue Dec 01, 2015 1:56 pm

So I just came across some Hung Gar videos on youtube, and saw this master who was in a lot of old school kung fu movies... never was a leading man, but he was in a shit ton of them. He was the gay tailor in Kung Fu Hustle. I've never really looked into Hung Gar much because my dad used to tell me that Pak Mei was designed to defeat styles such as Hung Gar, lol... so I guess the propaganda worked on me for most of my life. Anyways, thought I'll make a thread about the most famous style of Kung Fu before Bruce Lee came along and popularized Wing Chun.

- People here used to say that Hung-gar was one of the strongest styles of kung-fu. And they used to have several praticioners too. I don't know now, look's like the kung-fu scene here cooled a lot.

I guess its a good way to practice your forms on a solid object instead of air. Different styles have different designs... not all are like the Wing Chun ones you usually see.
