36 Chambers is maybe the most iconic classic of its genre imo, watched it many times. Also lots of old Jackie Chan stuff...

Other favorite films are 5 Deadly Venoms, and the White Lotus ones with Pai Mei

I have a nice collection of DVDs still.

- Remeber a kung-fu movie about two guys that get in a fight, but since they don't know how to fight everyone pokes fun at them?
So they start training at the same kung-fu school and become friends.
Wish i remebered the name.

^^ Shaolin vs Ninja I think is my favorite film.

Not as flashy or imaginative as others, certainly not as epic. But there is a simpleness to it that for me really captures the magic of those genres. There is a scene where the old Shaolin master is having a Question-Answer with the Japanese representative and it is VERY wise, lots of Taoist insight.

This guy is my all-time favorite character, its so good/so believable, even with the eyebrows, lol

Plus the Kung fu is SLICK.

FOR WIZ COOL C:

1. Did you watch old Shaw Brothers films, and is this a big part of your inspiration to do what you're doing?

2. At what age did you commit to this plan?

3. Do you live there fulltime now? Do you speak whatever dialect they speak there?

4. How do you see Western Culture from a shaolin perspective?

5. What confirmations or illusions were revealed when you went to experience the real thing?

Hey Robbstar, when you say 'students', what do you mean? What sort of a teacher are you?

I teach saturday morning drawing/comic classes and have learned much respect for how difficult it is to be a good teacher, and find the artform intriguing
