How many UG posters could beat FMJ in a MMA fight?

Postby Som-Pong » Sat Apr 18, 2015 7:14 am

"Every poster on here benches 350lbs, squats 500lbs and routinely runs 6 min miles even though they never "really" run, and they can swim 50 meters underwater on a single breath....no need to mention the 10's they bang."

Just saw this on the UG and thought it was funny. I could bench 100 kg right now, squat 130 kg and deadlift 200 kg without warm up. I don't run and my cardio is utter shit, I'd probably be able to do 5 km in -25 minutes but I'd be throwing up and on the ground for a while after. I could easily swim 50 m in one breath with preparation, as could any decent swimmer. My swim training is mostly from the marines and we had one national-level swimmer and he blew everyone in my platoon out of the water, dude could do 150 m routinely.
I reckon Floyd would take me in an MMA fight (with prior notice) 99 times out of a 100. HOWEVER I'd reckon I'd take him one on one in a streetfight (which would never happen). I consider myself a bad ass when it comes to fighting, but no way I'd beat an ATHLETE like Mayweather if he was given even 2 weeks of prior notice.
Thing is though, that if you're a professional athlete and people around you don't put up the above numbers on the reg, then you are not being professional enough.

Of those who dont train, only huge guys who are in good enough shape to execute a takedown and eat a body shot on the way in. Of those who do train, anyone in shape, has decent experience, and are not manlets like May. Lets say they had 2 years of training, I dont think Floyd could negate the grappling with 2 weeks of preparation.

- You just described a lot of mans aroud the world.
I rarely saw someone benchs more thatn 100 kgs in a gym, but on the internet everyone pulls spider-man like numbers.

Btw, i was watching WWE, and the guys started looking me in disbeliefe when i said that Randy Orton would kick my ass.

I think its unwise to underestimate him.

I just got my ass handed to me in BJJ by a 12 year old, lol. Couldn't shoot on him worth a fuck.

FMJ is stronger than a 12 year old. If you don't have a REALLY good game closing the distance imo just about anyone would be fucked. FMJ would likely land 6 punches before you even finish the shoot... and then 6 more on the way down as you sleep

So funny how the classic grappler vs boxer keeps re-cycling

Now they are talking about being 6'1, 180 lbs and being unable to beat that little girl in a striking match. These have got to be some pretty pathetic dudes.
