lol so what are the chances the ramco company actually set it up as a bot? Its hard to imagine a guy thinking "hmmm how am I gonna troll ppl now? Iv got it! Ill advertise hydraulic press machines!"

^ yeah I consider bots to be 'trolls' all the same (garbage posters, spam etc)

but you're right to make a distinction.

Some trolls I am a fan of, it can be quite a creative art imo. In fact, MrRamco001 would actually be a good name for a troll character lol

I thought Edge was a troll for a long time, and turns out he's a cornerstone of the forum lol

lol true. Ya I remember Edges first post: "The champ is here!!! *John cena pic*" I was almost sure he was a troll. Then he turned out to be a really cool guy.

I have seen other instances however with real trolls where if you are nice to them they trade in the troll-role for their better side and choose to accept a welcome to the community.

NOT at all saying this is the case with Edge (dude is smart as hell), but it goes to show that trolls sometimes are just like young kids, seeking attention but not knowing how to get it, thinking negative attention is good. These kind of people are usually quite easy to sway to a positive shift if you offer it to them genuinely.

This happened on the forum I began on back around 2000 - Most of us other members were older and it was a small forum, and I think we all ended up helping the kid out a great deal. He has no positive influences in his life, and we watched him change and mature in a really fast time.

Forums can be powerful, it is a really great way to share things we can't always be open about in the real world

Recently I saw the opposite occur on a twitch stream I watch. A sincere poster was falsely labelled a troll and henceforth was known as one. Instead of trying to deny it he embraced it and became a huge troll.
