Hey all
For fans of the original classic AKIRA, this should be of interest.
It seems many of these scenes were storyboarded/framed directly from the original animated movie. I am not sure if that is cool, or will kill any sort of original vision. There are pros and cons to sticking with an original too intensely. Otherwise what's the point?
I don't like messing with things that are great and classic, but am curious of this for sure.
AKIRA changed my life, was a huge influence on me

Saw this the other day. I was a little sad that it wasnt a real trailer. Akira was way ahead of its time, or maybe it was right on time, if there is no time
What? It's not a real trailer?
wtf is it then? Someone put a lot of work into that mofo

I wrote a long reply here a few days ago and it's gone/never got posted... that's weird.
^ sorry to hear that man, I would have liked to have read it :(
cliffnotes? :)
cliffnotes? :)
I basically said that Akira blew my mind when I first saw it in the early 90's. Going from regular Western type cartoons/animation then going to something like Akira... I actually felt "weird" after I watched it.
But yeah, that trailer was fan made. I guess they put out a call to anyone that couple help, and people volunteered their time and skills. I think they did a damn good job. Looks better than a lot of Hollywood stuff.
Also, if you're interested:
This guy has been working on his own version of the bike from Akira for a long time now. He's been working on it all on his own, and as you can imagine, designing your own, fully function motorcycle in your garage while staying true to the movie bike is tough.
