Celebrate's the 102 birthday of one Desiderio Alberto Arnaz y de Acha lll aka none other than the legendary Cuban bandleader, actor and television producer Desi Arnaz. I felt it only proper we take a moment here to honor the memory of a great man of stage and song; a true rhumba king.
Desi, wherever you are now, here's hoping the weather is warm and your cup overflows with fruity frozen cocktail concoctions. You know, the kind with the little umbrellas in them,..

el rey del mambo
Can you believe I actually used to watch that I Love Lucy show?
When I was quite young and a crappy TV with only 9 channels on it, they had reruns of that show every day, I bet I've watched almost every episode lol after school
I remember being impressed with him at the time too, and was confused why someone so talented would be married to that annoying hag

Lol, at annoying hag, have never heard of anyone calling her that
People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.
I must say, the sort of joke-writing in those days was a different sort of style, 'Who's on First' kind of linguistic gags etc. Very stage/theatre-esque, a performance entertainment type of show, limited camera work etc
Seems to be a style of writing that is long gone, no one writes clever like this these days
Same with 80's sitcom style laugh-track jokes, that whole genre seems dead now. Wonder if any of these old styles will ever come back or dead for good
