Punk Rock Thread

Postby Masato » Fri Aug 24, 2012 7:27 pm

Anyone into (or was into) Punk?

I caught the sort of 3rd generation of Punk in the mid 90's (NOFX, Operation Ivy, Bad Religion, Rancid, etc) and was buried in the thick of it for a few years.

I've since made the blasphemous move to plug back into the world, but never forgot or completely let go of why I fell in love with it, and still crank NOFX in the car more than any other band.

I just found this documentary, was a nice blast to the past.

I still play in a ska band. 13 years and still going. I love punk and ska and older reggae/jamaican Ska. In highschool i was a metal head, Slayer all the way.
I like to play Choking Victim in my car these days.

^ holy fuck that is awesome man

I never heard of em before, it's totally the kind of shit I like

I liked Ska before I discovered punk... basically that off-beat rhythm always seems to pump me up whether it's reggae or ska or punk.

i am a little bit too young to have been a part of the punk scene, but some of my childhood memories of my big brother bringing home punk girls really have stuck in my mind. as a 5-7 year old kid, you can imagine what i must have thought of a girl with a half shaved head with about 4 different colours in the "hair side"

I have always had a weakness for real punk girls... dated a hardcore chick for about 3 years, was crazy

I am smart enough to know now that most of them are quite crazy and bring more trouble than good, but damn if I don't take second looks when I see a real one, lol
