They have to man. If cops started working on their feelings, they'd be dead within a week. They deal with a slightly different level of society than we do. No one calls a cop to get a cat out of a tree anymore. They call them because scumbags are robbing, stealing, beating and killing.

They deal with that every day as their job and know that if they go with their feelings, they're dead within a week.

They roll in completely different circles. It either crushes you and you quit, or you man up and it makes you a monster. They deal with the absolute worst of society, day in and day out.

I wanted to be a cop until I learned that fun little fact. To be a cop, you have to hate and distrust, or you're never going to be good at your job.
