I am officially done with all my old music.
Took a long time, and I've felt it coming but maybe just in the past week or so I feel like I crossed some threshold where all that is in the past and I'm looking to new horizons. This includes music of course. I recently got a different phone, and it no longer connects to bluetooth in my car and I can't figure out how to make it work lol so for the first time in my life I've been driving around without music and really enjoying it lol
Been using Spotify to hunt for stuff that resonates with me, its pretty good at helping find your tastes based on the songs you 'like'.
I went on a Bob Dylan kick the other day, man did I enjoy that. I knew a few songs of his and had one of those lame-o 'Best of' albums back in the day but I never listened to him much further. But found a Dylan playlist on Spotify with tracks I'd never heard and there was some really good shit in there. Kinda dark sometimes, but maybe too much rings true to ignore regardless
Strange how music plays a different role in our lives at different stages and ages. For example as a teen maybe we use music to find/shape our identity, whereas when we are older maybe we use our identity to shape our music.

If Grateful Dude ever signs up here (he said he was considering it) we'll fire this thread up again that's a promise.

People say they all want the truth, but when they are confronted with a truth that disagrees with them, they balk at it as if it were an unwanted zombie apocalypse come to destroy civilization.
