Battleship model from scratch

Put the first coat of paint on today.

The decks are not completely together, so that's why there is a weird gap.

How did you get the hardwood texture on the deck? Looks great

What an honor to have seen this from the start in (near) real time.

When you began I had no idea what to expect. So cool to watch it come together. Keep posting, when its done take a nice pic and we'll all shoop the shit out of it!

Thanks guys. Too get the wood plank effect on the deck, I stained the wood with a teak colored stain (battleships had teak wood decks), and then simply drew the planks on with an artists pen.

That is just the first coat. I am going to go in with a brush and paint it further, I hope to make it look worn and used like this model maker did for his ship:

Also, if you're wondering what those empty circle things are, they will have anti-aircraft guns in them soon.
