You have to go where there's "blood in the water" so to speak.

Like do MMA parodies echoing non-MMA current events? that is interesting...

If we are good writers, it could be possibly to create skits that MMA fans will totally love, but reflective of hot topic issues so that that non-MMA fans can still follow it and appreciate the skit.

Not necessarily things like Justin beiber etc... but other more abstract/meaningful societal issues like the color of blue/gold dresses etc :)

If we can execute this imo we will gain a lot more cred because the writing is intelligent, not just funny

I am into this concept. The Simpsons/South Park etc didn't just get famous making silly jokes, they parody real life. penxv is right, we could potentially make an MMA show accessible to non-MMA fans

Find teachable moments in general. It doesn't have to entail violence or confrontation, but that kind of thing would have parallels with mma.

For instance... you can clickbait a title about how you have a video of two models fighting and create a scene where anything that you want happens. Maybe they quit and join a nunnery... whatever. You have a topical thing that people will instinctively go for.

And the blue dress thing was big. Chance to illustrate how people can observe the same thing, have different perspectives and each be equally valid.

Came across this...

I have no idea if that's true, but it seems like a teachable moment.

It's got to be either Sholler or Rogan.

Or this.

Update: Mark Hunt donated 5k like an hour ago. If I had any money, I'd pitch in for sure. Coleman cornered my first opponent as a pro, who was a wrestling teammate of his.

On the Coleman thing... if he doesn't trust his surgeon, I have a cousin in Akron that's an orthopedic surgeon. Pretty sure that he does hips. He's operated on 2 mma fighters in the past. He did Josh Hendricks's shoulder and Cody Stevens's tibia/fibula that he snapped in competition (similar to Anderson Silva).

I'll see his dad tomorrow, actually.
