Re: John Donaher on JRE

Is this system and his sharing of it very recent? Could this potentially change BJJ majorly? Like majorly? I don't want to feed the 'hype' too much, I'm going to continue on my path, and not ride the fad. But yes it will. Watch this match from the ADCC 2017 Middleweight. Some unknown, sometimes slo...

Re: John Donaher on JRE

Tried some of his thinking today at the club, not legs specifically, but deciding to move 'down' the ladder when things aren't working, also focusing on control as a priority over advancement or submission. Genius stuff Very good Masato-San. When you lose the line of the shoulders you retreat to co...

Re: John Donaher on JRE

This system has been making huge waves over the past 2-4 years. The majority of No-Gi sub-only matches are won by Leglockers using this approach. When I first watched Eddie Cummings blow through EBI I didn't know what I was looking at. It looked like a mix of luck, and no hesitation heel-hooks. Now ...

Re: Cormier Oezdemir Full Fight

I'm glad he won, but he really struggled the first 3 minutes. I think the stylistic matchup; Cormier walks guys down with dirty boxing, while Volkan waits for guys to clinch him against the fence, then hits a pivot and throws a surprise hook. Volkans 'trap' is exactly where Cormier is most comfortab...

Re: eddie bravos combat jiu jitsu worlds

Came back to thank Canuk for posting this. I saw it in my youtube feed but didn't click for some reason. I'm a sucker for the Submission-Only format and the matches have all been super exciting. It's amazing how the fear of getting slapped can push men towards action. I see much more aggression and ...

Re: John Donaher on JRE

He's like the Hannibal Lector of BJJ. I could picture him describing how he cooked and ate someone's liver, in exactly the same way that he did the fight analysis. Lol it totally is. "STOP. There. Joe. Tell me what you see. No I'm not asking you who is winning, I'm asking you what you see."

Re: John Donaher on JRE

There is definitely something serpentine about him, and it's not his rashguard.

Re: eddie bravos combat jiu jitsu worlds

Amazing. This kind of stuff is common in Europe and Russia, but here in the home of the free, regulators will be up your ass if they catch wind of any event with unconventional rule-sets.

Re: Hawaii Flase Alarm

I'm not going to make the leap to say this is all fear-tactics. There might be more going on behind the scenes that we're not aware of.

Why don't we pour everything we've got into improving Ballistic Missile Defense systems?
